ॐ Shot through some kind of hyperreal transdimensional low growl frequency, gradually increasing in pitch and synchronized with the speed of thought until, ultimately and limitlessly, you emerge
Rejuvenated and
Alive.

Psychedelic Intentions?

Something I often have spoken about here and something I speak about with my friends occasionally is the importance of having intention behind a psychedelic experience. Not everyone feels this way of course, and often people who don’t value the psychedelic experience as much or use it as an escape or to “get fucked up” will dismiss me outright..

I can’t quite explain why I feel the reverence or respect for psychedelics or entheogens that I do, but it is just something that’s always been there, even before I had tried them myself. Reading people like Terence McKenna, Aldous Huxley, & Ralph Metzner growing up lead me to realise these things can be of tremendous benefit to someones life. Whilst on the other hand reading thousands of trip reports (See Erowids Train Wreck, Addiction/Habituation sections), for example lead me to realise the great detriment they could also become if misused or used in vain..

So the original point, using psychedelics with intent and perhaps “purpose” is how I feel the most can be gained from such things. Going into any voyage with some idea of personal growth, deep introspection, spiritual development, creative play or perhaps even going in just being completely and totally open to the experience itself is all a form of intention. Just having that little spark of thought beforehand behind the experience can end up providing a deeply fulfilling journey..

Perhaps it depends how deep you want to go and what you are looking to “get out of” psychedelics. I am all for partying and fun when the time is right but in the back of my mind there is always the realisation that this is a gift and I am humbled to be experiencing it. Often I will take a moment to sit by myself if in a group situation and just appreciate and take in the experience for a brief time.

So do you go into an experience with intent? Is it even something you think about?

Or do you think an experience should be taken for what it is as it comes?

Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in between?

Mountain Consciousness - By Boywhoturnedtostone
“I continued gazing into the blueness above my head when my consciousness liberated itself from my body and soared through the mountains surrounding us in almost momentary flashes. I made myself open to all the suffering in the world and by the mere action and implication of this thought my consciousness merged with the skies; which at this point was a ocean of pure energy. I had become one with the essence that is everything. No thought, no attachment, no relations. I just was (God, love or whatever you want to call it). It was beyond words or symbols or formulas.”

Flashbacks to Hyperspace

Beyond form, beyond void, the shapeless purity of being takes hold as “I” fall away and am thrust headlong into the bardo.. The full and total expanse of Everything that ever was, has been or ever will be.. The eternal perfection of never ending radiance and bliss of creation… Our beginning and our end… In short..
Love.

Terence McKenna - Nobody is Smarter than You are.

Go for direct experience! What do YOU think when you face the waterfall? What do YOU think when you have sex? What do YOU think when You take Psilocybin? Everything else is un-confirmable rumour. Useless, probably lies. So, liberate yourself from the illusion of culture. Take Responsibility, for what You think and what You Do.”

Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness. And so to whatever degree any one of us, can bring back a small piece of the picture and contribute it to the building of the new paradigm, then we participate in the redemption of the human spirit, and that after all…is what it’s really all about..

The most important idea is that it’s not as easy to open up to spiritual experience as we would like. There are some psychological breakthroughs that need to happen. Learning how not to control others and how not to control our lives so intensely are two of those breakthroughs. We have to let go.

That’s why I always recommend a psychedelic experience because it makes you realize that all you’ve learned is in fact just learned and not necessarily the truth.

I look upon psychedelics as being catalytic, not productive, they do not DO what occurs. They allow YOU to express what is in you that you had not had the ability to get to and express yourself without the help of a material…

Quote with 11 notes

A sense of profound one-ness, a feeling of the unity of all energy.
Superficial differences of role, cast, status, sex, species, form, power, size,
beauty, even the distinctions between inorganic and living energy, disappear
before the ecstatic union of all in one. All gestures, words, acts and events
are equivalent in value - all are manifestations of the one consciousness
which pervades everything. “You,” “I” and “he” are gone, “my” thoughts are
“ours,” “your” feelings are “mine.” Communication is unnecessary, since
complete communion exists. A person can sense another’s feeling and mood
directly, as if they were his own. By a glance, whole lifetimes and words
can be transmitted. If all are at peace, the vibrations are “in phase.” If there
is discord, “out of phase” vibrations will be set up which will be felt like
discordant music. Bodies melt into waves. Objects in the environment -
lights, tree, plants, flowers - seem to open and welcome you: they are part
of you. You are both simply different pulses of the same vibrations. A pure
feeling of ecstatic harmony with all beings..

You do realise We are all All One right?

Occasionally run ins with totally close minded individuals occur in life, and im finding more and more these moments a chance to delve briefly into their psyche and perhaps open them up to new possibilities…

Que a 30 something drunken, mildly intimidating man staring straight at me whilst in the taxi line late at night.

He began muttering something about my look being over years ago, for no good reason at all other than to berate me and play the alpha male game many men choose to.

Now usually I would look away and avoid confrontation as best i could. This night however, still feeling the slight psychedelic tinge in my mind, i stared straight back, delving briefly into his eyes, trying to find where this was coming from and why…

Bam! It suddenly became clear as day… Ego was the culprit here, and this mans ego was getting in the way..He was clinging to it, and everything that made him “him”.

I proposed to him that i had no problem with him, and that how could i when in fact we are all part of one universal consciousness, collectively experiencing this thing known as life itself.

He seemed shocked, confused even…The man turned away and then said well yeah i have no problem with you, as long as you are happy with who you are.

“Who I am? I am You!” i replied…
Confusion set in even further and the drunken alpha male quickly stopped harrassing me and my girlfriend soon after that…

Perhaps my work was done, maybe i had given him something to think about, or maybe he just couldn’t handle some punk kid expounding the virtues of universal love at 4am in the morning..

Either way i left him with one last thing to ponder..

You do realise, we are all one, right?
