That powerful sample poured in through the oversized and perfectly tuned speakers as the first rays of light filtered through the surrounding tree line…
I’d made my way to the front of the pack and braced for ego dissolution as the night began its turn into day.
An uplifting and overwhelming feeling, irrevocably powerful and humbling in its sincerity overcame me as the moment developed…The reason “I” or “We” do what we do. The reason we go into the forest for days, in appreciation of nature and this life,the thing at the very core of my being and very core of existence itself.

Looking through the treetops at the passing clouds, seeing the smiling faces and happy people all around, all from different walks of life and yet all inseparably connected, all having that exact same moment together…
So far removed from the city lights and tumultuous fashion cliques, drama, selfishness and immaturity of separated society.
As each person recognizes and lets go of “self” and is completely open and in the moment, there is almost a time where you get a glimpse of just how this world can be…
And whats more, that it is in fact possible..

Explorers Of The Vast Frontier
“LSD is one of the most important diiiiscoverrrrriiiiiiiiiiiesssssss of the twwwwwennnnty fiiiiiiirst century” came the extremely drawn out psychedelic sample, booming out over the landscape that lay before us.
Waves of sound and colour filled the air, collided and exploded and imploded in again on each other as we looked out at what could only be described as an outback paradise. Mountains and valleys swayed while the harsh sun streamed down on us with its unrelenting rays, nourishing and warming us to the very core.
We were intrepid explorers, broken off from the group amidst a desert like landscape, on a mission to find the fabled watering hole. A small pixie had fluttered past and proclaimed its presence earlier in the day and the thought of exploration stuck in my mind.
Breaking from the pack briefly amidst the psychedelic festivities going on all around us we set out past camp and into the wild. Stopping along the way and taking in the mezmerising scene above, below and all around us was a joy in itself. Large rocks swiveled and swayed as we bounced across the terrain as though astronauts exploring the moon for the first time. An unfamiliar landscape fraught with potential and possibility…
Rather strangely and both at the same time, J and I stopped to relieve ourselves out in the open, an almost synchronized stream flowing freely over the parched vista. We turned and looked at each other laughing at the absurdity of it all. The clouds reached down as though begging us to play with them and all around the echo still rang through the hills “L-S-D iiiiis one of theee….”
Zipping up we decided we weren’t cut out for the water hole at this point in time, choosing instead to retire back to base camp and report our findings…
The walk back was brisk and playful, even though we had been unsuccessful our adventure hadn’t been without merit. Each and every experience and moment after all is what its all about…
After our epic sojourn, what felt like hours had passed once we returned back to camp. It was rather shocking then to learn that this story takes place within all of five minutes and 50 metres of a magical weekend..
